The equinox is upon us — that time of year when light and dark stand equal, inviting us to notice what is in balance, and what longs to be rebalanced within us.
The days grow shorter now — the end of long golden evenings, the closing of a potent and karmic eclipse season. And yet, woven inside these endings is the richness of harvest: family gathered around tables, cozy coffee dates with friends, baskets of fruit from our beloved trees.
This season asks us to honor both: the fullness of life and the falling away.
In times like these, when the outer world is loud and chaotic, our greatest defense is not found in force but in devotion — in the quiet tending of our inner world, the reflection we make space for, and the care with which we choose what we consume. Not only the food on our plates, but the media, conversations, and energies we allow into our homes and bodies.
I have come to realize: every choice matters. What we consume and where we place our attention becomes what we create.
This is the heart of our latest conversation on the Feral Future Podcast. Erik and I sat down to reflect on what this season is teaching us — about sovereignty, nourishment, and the inner rhythms that steady us when the outer world feels uncertain. We also share how our Pantry collection was born, and the courses and projects we’re creating as Feral Future continues to grow.
This year let us harvest wisely. Let us savor the nourishment that truly fortifies us — the laughter of loved ones, the minerals in slow-cooked meals, the clarity of silence, the honesty and safety of journaling by candlelight. And let us compost what no longer serves, trusting that even our letting go feeds the magnificence of what will come.
As we move through this time together, may you feel both steadied and softened. May you trust the rhythm of your own body as much as the rhythm of the seasons. And may you remember: the hearth — the true center of your sovereignty — is always within.
With devotion and feral love,
Keri Joy
